And know that time and foes,
The wind and the water
Won’t erase you.
You will endure, made of letters,
That’s quite a lot.
Something of you, nevertheless, will remain

Haim Gouri

The handwriting of a person is unique and there is no other like it. It reflects something of their personality, something of them. Creating a font in their name will leave a mark of them in our world.

The Ot.Hayim Initiative was born out of the pain, sorrow, and mourning that we all share following the murderous terrorist attack on Israel.

Designers create fonts from the handwriting of the victims and fallen soldiers of the Iron Swords War on October 7, 2023, in collaboration with the bereaved families, to commemorate the memory of their loved ones.

  • All partners in the Initiative do so on a volunteer basis.
  • The fonts are named after the person being commemorated, and are published under that name.
  • All fonts will be available for download on the Initiative’s website, alongside a photo of the original handwriting of the person being commemorated, their photo, and their life story.
  • The fonts will be available for free use on any computer and in any home, for anyone who wishes to use them: families, students, teachers, designers, etc. In this way, we pray that something of the personality and uniqueness of our loved ones will be preserved and shine into the world.

Niv Raviv

Daughter of Tami and Yoel, sister to Gil and Shir, and partner of Nirel Zini, of blessed memory.

Niv and Nirel lived together in the young neighborhood of Kfar Aza and were murdered in the cruel terrorist attack on October 7, 2023.

Our Nivush, beautiful inside and out, with the purest heart, kind eyes, and perfect smile.

27 years old, a student of psychology and criminology, she loved life, loved the country, loved to travel, celebrate, and be happy. Full of giving and acceptance, she always knew how to say the right thing and give the right advice, leaving life messages for all those around her.

Niv and Nirel moved to live together in the kibbutz only a few months before the great tragedy. Niv said she fell in love with the kibbutz and described it as a magical place.

Niv and Nirel planned to get married in the coming year and start a large family. Their whole lives were ahead of them
