I’m Shir, a graphic designer, font creator, and designer of unique websites.
At the beginning of the war, I, like the rest of the country, was overwhelmed by a sense of helplessness, and I searched for ways to volunteer and help. On Purim, I founded the project “Tastes like Home” a website that allows the families of the hostages to share the stories of their loved ones through their favorite cookies in the Mishloach Manot of every home and family, ensuring that no one is forgotten until they return. When I was exposed to the “Ot Hayim” project, I saw another opportunity to contribute my abilities, and I knew it would be a great honor to bring life to the letters and words of the fallen.
I was chosen to create the handwriting of Nevo Arad, who was murdered at the Nova party. Nevo was the same age as me, from the other side of the country. Thanks to the “Ot Hayim” project, I had the privilege of getting to know a part of him, and his memory will live on forever. The work on the font was emotional, knowing that a small part of him would continue after his passing, and that people would be exposed to who he was in the most personal way, gives hope.
Thank you to this touching initiative for their commemoration, and thank you to the family for giving me the opportunity to bring life to his handwriting.
