From Moshav Sde Moshe.
Daughter of Ahuva and Yossi Gazit, wife of Amnon, mother to Rotem, Roi and Re’ut, and sister to Noa, Ronen, Shlomit, Lior, and twin sister to Tamar.
In high school Hadas expanded her studies in Arabic, which later became meaningful for her military service in the Intelligence Corps in Unit 8200. After her military service she earned a degree in Arabic and Middle Eastern studies at the Hebrew University.
Upon completing her studies she was accepted to work in the police.
In the police, Hadas served in the Intelligence Division for about three decades. For 18 years she fought crime, and in the last decade, as part of her intelligence role, she helped foil hundreds of terrorist attacks and weapons smuggling.
On the last Independence Day before the attack, at a national outstanding officers ceremony, she received the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (Ravag) — the highest rank for non-commissioned police officers — as a mark of honor and appreciation for her professional work over the years.
Her family members say she was the soul of the home: smiling, hardworking, principled, modest, with a heart of gold, an exemplary mother, a professional in her fields, doing everything that was needed to the very best of her ability.
Over the years she accompanied her parents, Ahuva and Yossi Gazit (Palmach fighters from the Harel Brigade), with great love and inspiring respect. She took care of everything they needed — from shopping and practical matters to a warm daily connection with constant availability for them. It was so important to her, and so self-evident, that this is how one treats parents — in a way we can all learn from and hold dear.
We will try to continue your joy of life, the energy and the atmosphere you brought to your surroundings that always lifted the mood. The strength with which you lived life, your sensitivity to people and to your surroundings, and your ability to listen in such a containing and loving way. Your excellence as a way of life, and your special ability to distinguish between what is essential and what is secondary.
On 1.9.24 Hadas fell in a shooting attack on her way to work at the Hebron police station, at the age of 53. Together with officers Arik Ben Eliyahu, of blessed memory, and Roni Shkuri, of blessed memory.
May her memory and their memory be a blessing!
