Staff Sergeant Alemnew Emanuel Feleke, from Kiryat Gat. My little brother, beloved soul and true friend.
He immigrated from Ethiopia to Israel in 2004. After a year in an absorption center in Be’er Sheva, we moved to Bat Yam.
He finished high school at “Yeshivat Aderet”, while volunteering for the fire department and being a counselor in the Bnei Akiva youth movement.
He continued to a pre-military yeshiva preparatory program in Eli. After a year, he wanted to continue studying Torah and moved to “Ateret Mordechai” Yeshiva in Safed.
Always very modest and loving to help everyone, smiling and serious at the same time, funny, responsible and devoted. Always giving of himself and as much as he could.
His dream was to enlist in the army and serve the country as best as possible. He was accepted to be a fighter in the Duvdevan unit of the Commando Brigade. After a difficult and grueling course, he completed the training, received a company-level excellence award and was destined for officer’s training, but due to the war everything was postponed, and he stayed to fight, and was wounded in battle in the southern Gaza Strip on December 5th, 23.
After his death, it was clear to the family that they would donate his organs because that’s what he would have wanted. In his death, he saved four people.
May his memory be a blessing.
