Master Sergeant Eliran Abergel, 29 years old when he fell. He left behind a wife, parents, and 2 sisters. Born and raised in Netanya, he studied at Eldad High School. After completing his studies, he was recruited as a combat intelligence soldier on the Lebanon border and later served as a command post officer for the 91st Division. Upon his discharge in 2016, he enlisted as a fighter in the Israel Police Special Patrol Unit. He began his work at the Jaffa station, continued to serve in the motorcycle unit, and in the last six months was transferred to the special MATPA unit. As part of his role, he underwent numerous training courses and received certificates of excellence and appreciation for impressive activities. He always strived forward and sought contact and protection of the country. A hero of an entire nation!
Eliran was a family man, caring, protective, guarding. There was no need for words; looks were enough. He always radiated light, happiness, and love. A special person with a huge heart and endless giving. Sensitive and tough at the same time. Eliran had charisma and personal charm that magnetized everyone around him. A person who manages to identify hope even in the most difficult moments to strengthen and lift morale. The joy of life and faith accompanied him until his last day and will continue to accompany me and all his family and friends forever.
On Saturday, Eliran was called up in the early morning hours from the north, left home with a smile to protect the country and its citizens. When he arrived at the assembly area, he volunteered to be in the first force to enter Kibbutz Be’eri. Eliran drove an armored vehicle that took a direct RPG hit. The missile failed to subdue him; he dismounted from the vehicle, charged, and continued to fight bravely and eliminate many terrorists. Eliran was found near one of the houses where hostages who were rescued were located. Around him, one could notice signs of a fierce encounter in which he fought courageously and heroically alone.
