Adir Massika
Firstborn son of Shiri and Alon, brother to Liran, Libi, and Or. Just 23 years old.
Born in New York, made Aliyah at age 4, when his parents chose to raise their children in Israel, despite the sacrifices.
As a teen, Adir fell in love with the sea. Surfing gave him peace, confidence, and a sense of belonging. He later turned that connection into a jewelry brand named “FLOW.”
Adir embodied all elements—earth, fire, water, and air. He was creative yet grounded, playful yet responsible. A free spirit with deep presence and rare emotional attentiveness.
In the IDF, Adir served in Yahalom, as a passionate and trusted commander. Even after choosing not to attend officer training, his commander said:
“I truly trusted him. There was no one like him.”
After completing his service, Adir embraced life—falling in love, creating, and pursuing his dreams. His signature phrase, “Because that’s what I decided,” reflected how he lived: with conviction and heart.
On October 7, 2023, Adir and friends were at the Nova festival. As sirens sounded, they sought shelter near Re’im. When terrorists approached, Adir and his friend Ilay chose—without hesitation—to face them barehanded, to protect the others. They were killed. Three young women survived because of their bravery.
Adir’s light, laughter, and love live on.
We love you. We miss you. We will never forget.
May his memory be a blessing.
