Amit Friedman was born on February 20, 2005, in Or Yehuda, the beloved son of Liat and Assaf Friedman, and brother to Roy, the eldest, and Yuval, the youngest. He completed his education in his hometown, graduating from the “Shizaf” elementary school and the “Yuvalim” high school.
Amit was an athlete at heart. He played basketball as part of the municipal sports team A.L.E. Or Yehuda and also took part in the sports class at “Yuvalim” high school. He was also a member of the Scouts movement, Shevet Yehuda, where he Served as a tutor for three years of high school, bringing with him a spirit of leadership and friendship wherever he went.
His love for sports did not end on the court – Amit was “yellow” at heart, both in soccer and in basketball, a devoted fan of Maccabi in both sports. He was always surrounded by friends who loved him, and whom he loved in return.
In August 2023, Amit enlisted in Battalion 932 of the Nahal Brigade, where he proved himself to be a brave and determined fighter. After completing his combat training, he went on to a squad commanders’ course, which he successfully completed in July 2024. He took great pride in his combat service and was always ready to give his all for his comrades and for the country.
On the 24th of Av, 5784 (August 27, 2024), Amit fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip. His death left a great void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, but his radiant smile will accompany us forever.
May his memory be a blessing.
