Dor grew up and lived in Rosh HaAyin.
During his military service, he served in the Golani Brigade, 51st Battalion, and immediately upon his release, he enlisted in the Israel Police and served in the MATPA unit.
On the Black Saturday, Dor was called up at 7:00 AM for work, shouted “War!” from his bed, got ready within minutes, and left for assembly.
He and his comrades arrived in the south to the Sderot and Ofakim area, and from there received further missions.
Due to numerous calls from citizens reporting their homes being set on fire and people being killed, the entire unit was dispatched to Be’eri.
As they reached the settlement’s outskirts, they were ambushed by a terrorist squad that opened fire with missiles, grenades, machine guns, and sniper rifles. The teams returned fire and fought, with Dor among these fighters, but out of eight combatants, only one survived, and our Dor fell in this battle while fighting with courage.
For ten days, he was classified as out of contact until the difficult news reached the family. They said that Dor was a homebody, a mama’s boy; she was his whole world before anyone else. Dor loved going out with friends and helping anyone who asked. He had such a big heart.
Dor left behind four siblings and two nieces. He was 24 years old when he fell.
May his memory be a blessing.
