Dor, son of David and Yael and younger brother to Rani and Noam, was born and raised in Moshav Arugot. A gifted athlete, he excelled in various sports.
After high school, he joined the Migdalor leadership preparatory program, where his qualities of quiet leadership first became evident.
Dor enlisted in the Egoz Commando Unit, during which he was certified as a combat medic. Striving to make an even greater impact as a commander, he chose to attend officers’ course and was later assigned as a platoon commander in the Tzabar Battalion of the Givati Brigade.
For eight months, Dor commanded his platoon of fighters. In this role, his leadership shone through values of giving, empathy, and acting for the sake of others. Dor was a loyal and devoted friend; many of his comrades became his closest brothers-in-arms, feeling a special, direct bond with him. He took responsibility for his soldiers wholeheartedly, supporting them through challenges both in service and in life.
Dor fell in battle during the clearing of Kibbutz Kfar Aza from terrorists on October 9, 2023 (24 Tishrei 5784) — exactly 50 years after the fall of his grandfather, Yitzhak Bar Sadeh Klaresfeld, in the Yom Kippur War.
