Ido was from Tel Mond, the eldest brother to Guy and Omri.
A gifted, beloved and exceptionally intelligent child with a huge heart.
Principled, humble and talented. Always kind to everyone, respectful to every person, always wearing a smile, always considerate of others, and always the first to offer help, reach out a hand and support. He excelled in everything he chose to do and never boasted about his many achievements.
Ido had many hobbies: in music, he played classical and electric guitar. He was an outstanding athlete and played basketball for the Tel Mond youth team. Ido loved giving and volunteering, and was a counselor and active member in the Scouts.
He studied at Rabin High School in the Cyber track and graduated with highest honors.
Ido enlisted in August 2021 to the Egoz Unit of the Commando Brigade. From the very beginning of his service, he stood out for the seriousness and professionalism he showed throughout the training process. His teammates and commanders saw him as a source of inspiration, a courageous fighter and a true friend.
He completed the officers’ course with distinction and received command of a team of Egoz fighters in training at the Commando School.
The first thing Ido said to his soldiers was:
“My name is Ido and I’m your new team commander. I don’t expect you to trust me yet – get to know me first.”
His commanders and fighters testify that within two days they trusted him completely and saw in him a natural leader and a professional commander, an exceptional and brave warrior.
“A true lion doesn’t need to roar for everyone to know he’s the king” – this is the sentence that Ido’s team commander dedicated to him, engraved on the unit emblem he gave him.
A month after assuming his command, he entered combat with his team in Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip.
On April 6, 2024, during the opening of a logistical route, the team was ambushed in a sophisticated attack. Through his rapid response and professional actions during the encounter, Ido saved many of his soldiers and many fighters from the brigade who were scheduled to leave Gaza at dawn in a convoy on that same route.
Ido fought with courage and bravery against the terrorists and fell in battle, 21 years old.
His guiding values were perseverance, humility, empowering others, never giving up on yourself, giving 100%, and loving life.
Ido left a profound mark and tremendous inspiration on the many people who crossed his path.
May his memory be a blessing.
