From Ra’anana. Born in Moshav Hadid in 1987 to his mother Dorit and father Shuki (Yehoshua). He was the middle of three brothers, the husband of Daphni and the father of Hailey.
Itay was the ultimate nature-loving child, always wearing a captivating smile. He was quietly helpful, a peacemaker wherever he went, and truly the best of brothers.
After his discharge from the Golani Reconnaissance Unit in 2010, he began working in security services and later took on several roles in the military reserves — including VIP protection and serving in the command post team of the 36th Division’s reserve headquarters.
Itay had a unique hobby — at his parents’ home in the moshav, he raised and cared for a wide variety of birds and rare animals. He lovingly tended to them between work, reserve duty, and family life.
Itay left his home in Ra’anana, not under emergency orders, but as part of the reserve command team of the 36th Division commander heading south.
Itay fell in Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7, 2023, at 9:00 PM near the Amnon VeTamar kindergarten, during an effort to rescue and clear the kibbutz. He was 36 years old.
