From Eilat. The youngest after two sisters, the joy of the family.
Lidor carried a rare humility and modesty. He did not like to speak of himself or his achievements, and this very humility allowed him to care deeply for those around him, to love each one, and to feel the absence when someone was missing or when their unique “color” was not present in the group.
In a message he once sent to a friend who hadn’t shown up after an event, he explained why everyone in the group was important:
“Each person is a different color, each brings something of their own, and your color is missing, brother.”
On Sunday, December 17, 2023 (5 Tevet 5784), during an operational mission, Lidor Yosef was struck by an anti-tank missile that hit the Hummer in which he was riding. He was killed instantly, as a martyr of Israel, at just 23 years old.
