the wife of Guy and mother of Alma, was born on December 26, 1987, during Hanukkah, inspiring her name, “Lior” (my light). She brought light and joy to every place she went, with a heart full of love for both people and animals.
Lior found her calling as a veterinary nurse at Dr. Ido Kaan’s clinic, where she worked for the past seven years. Always cheerful, she carried treats in her pockets to comfort the animals under her care and reassure their owners. She believed everyone should have a four-legged friend and lovingly raised her dogs, Lir and Mia, and her cats, Yaya and Miki.
At home, Lior fostered and cared for animals in need, providing a temporary haven until they found a permanent home. She cared for dogs, cats, birds, and even a rat. In her free time, she devoted herself to gardening, cultivating her cherished yard filled with plants, pots, and ornaments. Her garden’s cuttings spread across the country, and her friends and family continue tending to her garden in her honor.
Lior also loved yoga, taking pride in her impressive flexibility and skills. Despite her many commitments, she always found time to give back. In April 2023, she began volunteering with “Elem” in the “Good People” project, which assists people in need during music festivals. It was during her volunteer work at the Nova Festival in Re’im on October 7, 2023, that Lior tragically lost her life at the age of 36.
She leaves behind a daughter, husband, parents, siblings, family, and countless friends who miss her dearly. Though their hearts are broken, they carry her smile with them always.
Her legacy: “Be kind to one another and smile from the heart.”
May her memory be a blessing.
