Rani – the beloved husband of Razi, and the devoted father of Yehonatan, Alon, Neta-Rachel, and Noa-Estella — was a man of deep connections.
He was born in Rosh Pina to Sima and David, and lived in Sde Nehemia with his wife and children.
Nature was always his refuge – a place of peace, calm, and grounding. In his last year, he also found tranquility in sports, training passionately for the Israman triathlon – a race he never got to run.
Rani served as a combat medic in the Givati Brigade, a battalion commander’s team member, and a beloved comrade – loyal, caring, and brave.
On the morning of October 7, 2023, he began calling commanders and friends, asking to be recruited. Though exempt from reserve duty due to post-trauma from Operation Protective Edge, Rani insisted on returning to defend his country.
Just a month before his death, he wrote: “War must be fought – even at the cost of harm to me or my friends.”
On November 18, 2023, Rani was killed by an anti-tank missile in the Salah al-Din area of Gaza.
He left behind countless dreams, which his family and friends now carry forward – filled with love, longing, pain, and pride.
