Uriya was born and raised in the kibbutz Alumim.
He was a deep, thoughtful, quiet, and humble man. A family man and a devoted father. He made a point of listening to everyone.
Over the years, Uriah wrote extensively, revealing his pursuit of inner truth, his grand aspirations, and his constant striving for growth and development in all areas, including self-refinement and Torah study.
He studied at a yeshiva high school in Mitzpe Ramon and later at the “Reuta” yeshiva in Carmel.
In 2006, he enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and served in the Armored Corps.
In 2008, he married Avital and the couple had six children. Although exempt by law, Uriah signed up for continued reserve service even after turning 40.
On Simchat Torah, October 7, 2023, he was called up with his platoon under an emergency call-up order.
His commanders and fellow reservists recount that he never rested, always seeking ways to contribute and help others.
On October 31st, he entered the northern Gaza Strip.
He fell in battle on Thursday, the 18th of Heshvan 5784, November 2, 2023, at the age of 41.
