Yaakov was an amazing artist, in addition to being an amazing person – talented, curious, diligent, modest, a good friend, understanding, patient and accepting.
Everyone could find their place beside him, and he always welcomed everyone with open arms and understanding.
Not long before the war, he finished his first year studying industrial design at Shenkar – he very much enjoyed studying and was highly appreciated by his teachers.
In addition to being an artist, Yaakov was very practical, with his feet on the ground, and therefore chose the field of industrial design. He already had several patents he had begun to register, but didn’t get to implement. He always had a thousand ideas in his head. Additionally, he was a tattoo artist and painter, and had golden hands!
He met his partner Hagar when he was 17 and she was 16. They were together for 5 years, after which they separated for almost 5 years during which Yaakov traveled abroad, learned to tattoo, specialized in painting and drawing, and enrolled in industrial design studies.
When he returned, they renewed and formalized their love. Yaakov was looking forward to and very excited about the birth of his daughter!
The home they built was a warm and loving home full of Yaakov’s art, with two dogs and a cat that were part of the household.
Yaakov was killed on November 7 fighting in Gaza, exactly one month after the Black Saturday. He served as a reservist in the Armored Corps in the Rage Company of Battalion 52, Brigade 401. His role in the tank was loader; in addition, he was an armorer in his military service, and when called up for reserve duty he took his sewing machine with him, and sewed and improved tactical vests whenever he wasn’t training or fighting.
When he fell, his wife was in her fifth month of pregnancy.
In February 2024, his daughter, Ella, was born.
May his memory be a blessing
